Anderson County High School senior Austin Dillow, second from front right, signs an NCAA national letter-of-intent to run track and cross country at Kentucky State University during a ceremony at the school last Thursday. Anderson County got 18 points from Jay Smith, while Ross Cox and Lowell Gordon added 14 and 13, respectively, as the Bearcats routed visiting Washington County, 74-55, Saturday night.
Anderson trailed only once at 3-2 and took total control of the game with a 12-0 run late in the second quarter. A 17-2 outburst over 3:14 of the third quarter turned the game into a rout. Anderson led 53-38 after the uprising.

51 in a battle of girls’ basketball teams ranked in the
pre-season Top 15 on Friday night.
“We didn’t defend the three at all,” Anderson
coach Tony Kays said.

The Anderson County wrestlers rolled to four victories in five matches during the Wayne County Duals held Saturday.
The Bearcats defeated Letcher County Central, Danville, Barren County and Scott County but lost to the host team, a perennial state power.
Chris McDaniel was undefeated on the day at 132 pounds, while T.W. Stockton (145) and Travis Kaelin (195) were also undefeated on the day.
