The Christian Academy of Lawrenceburg Rams swept through the Kentucky Christian Schools Athletic Association state tournament last weekend at the Kentucky Basketball Academy in Lexington. The two-day tournament showcased some of the best Christian school talent in the state in three divisions, with the Rams coming out on top in the Class 2A division.

The Christian Academy of Lawrenceburg boys’ middle school basketball team continues their winning ways. Saturday, the team won twice.
In the first game, the Rams played Fox Creek Christian Church. Christian Academy opened a 12-7 lead at the half. Michael Secen and Dillon Harper posted all nine CAL points in the third period, and the Rams led 21 – 13, before going on to a 31-24 win.
Michael Secen led CAL’s scoring with eight points. Dillon Harper added seven; Nathan Bain and Hunter Wells contributed six each. Chandler Royalty had four points.

The Christian Academy of Lawrenceburg volleyball team continues to improve. The junior varsity squad has added wins over Nelson County Baptist and Madison Christian Academy, making their record 3-1. The varsity squad (0-6), which includes several JV players, hasn’t quite come together yet, but the signs are all there.
The Lady Rams hosted Nelson County Baptist on Nov. 23 at Lawrenceburg United Methodist Church. In the JV match, CAL was resilient, winning several points on long rallies and defeating Nelson County 2-0.

The Christian Academy of Lawrenceburg Rams junior varsity and varsity basketball teams are coached by Karl Pitzer and Cory Robinson. The varsity team is led by junior Zach Gray, whose exuberance infects the team and the crowd. The JV squad leaders are sophomores Mathew Robinson and Forest Bowman, while eighth-grader Dillon Harper brings excitement from outside the 3-point arc. Of the 15 players for JV and varsity combined, six are new to Christian Academy of Lawrenceburg basketball. These teams are a blend of old and new, and the chemistry works well.
