Call it youth if you want, but Anderson County softball coach called the Lady Bearcats’ play unacceptable after losses to Lexington Catholic and Henry Clay in a double-header played at Lexington Catholic Friday night.
The three-team affair was put together quickly after rains had washed out a large number of games for all three teams.
Anderson, now 7-13 on the year, has dropped six straight games.
The Lady Bearcats blew a 6-1 lead as they fell to Catholic 7-6 in the first game of the evening.

A lot of work and a little play added up to Anderson County’s best day of the softball season on Saturday.
Unlike recent years, the Lady Bearcats did not spend their spring break on the beaches at Gulf Shores, Ala. Instead they stayed home flipping tires and pushing sleds in an all-out conditioning effort. The prize on Saturday, however, was wins over Eastern and Daviess County in a three-way double-header at Eastern.
Like Anderson, both Eastern and Daviess County are receiving votes to be placed in Kentucky’s Top 25.

While Anderson County got a leg up on the seeding race for the 30th District Tournament with wins over Collins and Shelby County, the rest of the Lady Bearcats’ week left much to be desired, according to Anderson coach Brian Glass.
The Lady Bearcats dropped three of four games, including one to regional foe Henry County in the Oldham County Spring Break Classic on Saturday.
