And that meant there would be no funny business in the championship game of the girls’ 30th District Tournament, held at Spencer County High School.

FRANKFORT -- Franklin County turned numerous Anderson County mistakes into baskets during the third quarter on its way to a 45-41 win in girls’ basketball action Friday night.
Trailing 24-19, Franklin turned up the defensive pressure to go on a 14-1 run and take control of the game. Anderson cut the lead to three points on three separate occasions in the fourth quarter, but could not get the break down the stretch.

FRANKFORT -- Franklin County led from wire-to-wire as the Flyers rolled to a 62-41 win over Anderson County in boys' basketball action on Friday night.
Franklin used its quickness to completely disrupt the Anderson offensive attack, building a 30-13 halftime lead and then never allowing Anderson to get closer than 14 points in the second half. Franklin's margin topped out at 58-36 late in the fourth quarter.
“All year long, we have been emotionally charged, but tonight we weren't,” said Anderson coach Glen Drury.
