The second season for Anderson County wrestling is about to begin.
The Mat Cats will be competing in the Region 2 meet, set for Central Hardin High School on Saturday, Feb. 12. The first bouts will get underway at 10 a.m.

Anderson County’s wrestlers won four of five matches in its pool in the Admiral Duals, held Saturday at Danville High School. The Bearcats defeated Perry County Central, Newport, Boyle County and Harrison County, all by wide margins but fell to highly-regarded Wayne County 51-26.

The Anderson County wrestling team pinned the first major tournament championship under Coach Tom Castle on Saturday when the Bearcats won the Capital City Classic at Franklin County High School.

Some of Kentucky's best wrestling teams will be descending on Woodford County High School for the Yellow Jacket Invitational to be held on Monday, Dec. 27 and Tuesday, Dec. 28.
Anderson County, which has several impressive wrestlers early in the season, will be part of the field.
In the recent Bearcat Duals, held on Dec. 11, Anderson wrestlers Shea Sparrow (130 pounds), Austin Dillow (135) and Jacob Vincent (145) were undefeated in their respective weight classes.
T.W. Stockton and Chris McDaniel went 4-1 at 160 and 125 pounds respectively.
