Volunteers helped raise money for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) during the recent Lawrenceburg Fair and Horse Show by spending some time behind bars.
Alton Christian Church minister Noel Cotton Jr. and Shirley Thornberry of the American Legion Post 34 Auxiliary volunteered to be “prisoners” until they raised enough money during the event to post “bail.”
They joined others in helping raise funds for CASA, which assists abused and neglected children who organizers said need a voice while going through the court system.
