SHELBYVILLE - For 33 games, Anderson County girls' basketball coach Tony Kays used the same mantra as the formula for success: 32 minutes.
Thirty-two minutes of basketball and the scoreboard would take care of itself.
"Going into the fourth quarter, I told the girls it was an eight-minute season," a subdued Kays said Monday night. His team had just seen its season end as Simon Kenton outscored Anderson 7-2 in the final 1:10 to post a 48-44 win in the Girls' Eighth Region Tournament championship game.
For Anderson, it was a season that was 70 seconds too long.
