The ninth annual Anderson County Relay for Life is set to begin Friday night at 6.
The event, which raises funds for the American Cancer Society, runs through 6 a.m. Saturday.
Around 25 teams are confirmed to participate in this year’s event. Team members will walk around the track at the American Legion city park throughout the 12 hours in an effort to raise $90,300.
Last year’s event raised $83,000 for the American Cancer Society.
A highlight of the event each year is the survivor’s ceremony, set to begin around 6 on Friday night.
The luminaria ceremony is also a highlight of the night, and it is set to begin after dark around 10:30 p.m.
Musical entertainment will begin around 7 p.m. This year’s lineup includes Puncheon Creek, Men of Joy, Joysong and William Lee Thompson
Teams have a variety of events planned to take place through out the night.
