ACE announces class offerings

Anderson Community Education recently announced its classes scheduled to begin in early February.
A complete list of class offerings is available in the spring brochure, which can be accessed at www.anderson.kyschools.us under the “Our Schools” tab or at the Anderson Adult Education website http://ulearn.anderson.kyschools.us/sites/ACE.
ACE also offers adult education programs with instruction for a GED diploma, college preparation, computer literacy or English as a second language.

The following class information and descriptions were provided by ACE.

Boot Camp Fitness
When: Feb. 1-April 9 on Tuesday evenings from 6 to 7:30 and Saturday mornings from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
Where: Emma B. Ward Elementary School in the gymnasium with Todd Barrick, certified instructor
Cost: Once per week $60 and twice per week $99
Description: This 10-week boot camp will consist of five different fitness interval sessions. The workout consists of circuit training, heart rate intervals, strength, core and ply metric training. The workout will include warm-up exercises and a cool down. It is structured to fit all fitness levels, so everyone is welcome. The camp is co-ed so bring a friend, spouse or other loved one.
Please bring a mat, bottle of water, a towel and gym shoes.

Women’s Retirement Seminar —
‘From Here to There: A Clear Overview of Retirement’

When: Monday, Feb. 7 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. with Thomas W. Potts, financial adviser
Where: Adult Learning Center, 219 E. Woodford St., Lawrenceburg
Cost: $10 for booklet
Description: Talking about finances is so important, but the reality is that many women are not talking about it. You probably know women who are involved in managing their careers, and children’s activities, and look after their family’s health and well being, but are uncomfortable talking about finances and retirement. This seminar addresses women’s unique retirement considerations, what they should know, and how they can prepare for retirement. Join our class, bring your questions and get ready to take control of your financial future.
