Boot Camp Fitness
When: Sept. 20-Nov. 1 on Tuesdays from 6-7:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9-10:30 a.m.
Where: Emma B. Ward Elementary gym with instructor Todd Barrick.
Cost: $60 (10 sessions)
Description: The boot camp held twice a week, consists of five different fitness interval sessions. The workout consists of circuit training, heart rate intervals, strength, core and plymetric training. The class is structured to fit all fitness levels, so everyone is welcome. The camp is co-ed, so bring a friend, spouse or other loved one. Bring a mat, bottle of water, towel and gym shoes.
Basic Dog Obedience
When: Sept. 14-Oct. 19 on Wednesday evenings from 6-7.
Where: Anderson County Park (behind the Extension Office) with trainer Jean Gibowski.
Description: Does your dog need some house manners? In this six-week session you will have fun teaching your dog to sit, lie down, stay, heel, come and even do tricks. Any dog at least 4 months old is welcome. The first night of class is for instruction to the dog owner only, but the remainder of the class, you will bring the whole family, your dog, leash and some of his/her favorite treats. On the last night of class, the instructor leads your dog in a time of graduation for you and your family to celebration. Bring a camera. (Limit eight dogs.)
Extended hours for GED, college prep instruction
The Adult Learning Center is now open from 8 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Bluegrass Community and Technical College is open for GED/college prep classes from noon until 4p.m. Monday through Friday.
