When: Tuesday, April 10 at 7 p. m.
Where: Anderson Public Library with instructor Jeff Sauer
Description: On the second Tuesday of each month the Anderson Public Library presents a spring gardening class. In this class participants will learn about growing Japanese Maples.
When: Tuesday and Thursday. This session began on Tuesday, March 27-May 3 from 5:45-6:45 p.m.
(No classes during spring break on April 2-6)
Where: Anderson County High School Cafeteria No. 1 with certified instructor Tonjua Casey
Cost: $45 (10 sessions) or $5 per class
Description: Zumba is a fusion of Latin and international music-dance themes that creates a dynamic, exciting and effective fitness workout. Wear comfortable clothes and gym shoes.
When: Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning on Monday, April 9-May 17 from 6-7 p.m.
Where: Saffell Street Elementary cafeteria, with certified instructor Doris Thompson
Description: This class includes warm-up, step aerobics, strength endurance with hand weights, Tae Bo punch and kick leg exercises and cool down. Participation improves cardiovascular efficiency, endurance and flexibility. Bring an aerobic step, mat or towel, 1 to 5 pounds hand weights and a bottle of water. This class is ongoing throughout the year.
Basic Dog Obedience
When: Mondays, beginning April 16-May 21 from 6-7:30 p.m.
Where: Anderson County Park, located at 1026 County Park Road (behind the Extension office) with professional dog trainer Jean Gibowski.
Cost: $69 (six weeks)
Description: Does your dog need some house manners? In this six-week session you will have fun teaching your dog to sit, lie down, stay, heel, come and even do tricks. Any dog at least 4 months old is welcome. The first night of class is for the dog owner only, but for the remainder of the class you can bring the whole family, your dog, leash and some of his/her favorite treats. (Limit eight dogs)
