The Anderson County boys' golf team fell short of its own high hopes at the regional golf tournament, held at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson in Columbia.

The Bearcats finished fifth in the tournament, won by West Jessamine. Adair County, playing on its home course, also advanced to the state as the second place team.

No Anderson individual made the final state cut on a day when several golfers had hot rounds and all of the individual qualifiers shot par-72 or below. Anderson's Marcus Lake was two strokes off a possible state berth.
