The Anderson County High School boys' indoor track team scored a big win Saturday in the Mason County Indoor Athletic meet at Maysville. The Bearcats won the 15-team event and tallied 62.5 points, well ahead of second place West Jessamine.
Sophomore Cody Dixon set school records in both the 55-meter dash and 400-meter dash. Dixon was third overall in the 55-meters as he turned in a 6.62 finish. Dixon was second in the 400, just behind Manual's Gerry Cooper, with a 55.32 time.
While the Anderson girls finished 13th, there were some outstanding performances from Brittany Cole and Sabrina Shelton.
Cole set a school record in the 55-meters with an 8.10 time, while Shelton broke her own school record with a 10.01 clocking in the 55-meter hurdles. Cole placed 17th overall, while Shelton was fifth in her event.
