Anderson Community Education will offer the following classes during October.

The center also offers adult education programs with instruction to earn a GED diploma, prepare to attend college, or volunteer in the community.
When: Oct. 22, Oct. 29, Nov. 6 and Nov. 13 from 6-8 p.m.

Cost: $20 (eight hours of instruction)
Description: Do you want to learn to lower your grocery bill and never buy generic brands again? Learn how to stockpile groceries for your family, church, food pantry or favorite charitable organization. Learn to plan meals for your family to enjoy at a very low cost.
Basic cake decorating
When: Oct. 25, Nov. 1, Nov. 8, and Nov. 15 from 6-8 p.m.
Where: Adult Learning Center, 219 East Woodford St. with certified Wilton Method Instructor
Cost: $40 (eight hours of instruction)
Description: You will learn how to bake a great cake, how to make and color icing and steps to icing the cake. You will practice the three fundamentals of decorating and learn to create icing drop flowers, rosettes, shells, pompom flowers, leaves, shaggy mums and the ribbon rose. You will also learn to decorate cookies and cupcakes. The supplies you will need are the Wilton Course 1 Kit (can be purchased anywhere Wilton Products are sold, Michaels, JoAnns, Wal-Mart, Hobby Lobby, very affordable with coupons) and bring 6-8 flat cookies (Kroger sugar cookies work great!)
Zumba dance fitness
When: Tuesdays and Thursdays, Oct. 23-Nov. 29 (no class on Election Day or Thanksgiving)
Where: Ezra Sparrow Early Childhood Center with certified instructor Tonjua Casey
Cost: $45 (10 classes) or $5 per class
Description: Zumba is a fusion of Latin and international music-dance themes that creates a dynamic, exciting and effective fitness workout. The routines feature aerobics training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. Zumba is a mixture of easy to follow dance steps.
Bring a bottle of water, hand weights, wear comfortable clothes and gym shoes.
