Anderson County school district focused on anti-bullying pledges, activities and events during Safe Schools week held Oct. 21-27.
Activities for Safe Schools week, with the theme “Bullying: Be Part of the Cure” included high school students creating their own public service announcements about being aware of bullying, while other students signed anti-bullying pledges.
Elementary students, such as those who attend Emma B. Ward, participated in a spirit wear day for each day of Safe Schools week and listened to daily announcements on handling bullying, the school district announced.
According to the district’s website, the district will also be instituting an online tip reporting system for students, staff and parents to use in submitting concerns on bullying.
