Anderson’s Williams named as honorable mention all-state

Anderson County High School boys’ soccer player Sam Williams has been named an honorable mention selection on the Kentucky Boys’ Soccer Coaches’ Association all-state team.

A senior, Williams led the Bearcats to a 12-5-4 record and an appearance in the Region 13 tournament. Williams scored 21 goals and had seven assists.

Saturday, Williams played in the state all-star game at John Hardin High School, near Elizabethtown. Williams scored two of the East team’s four goals and had an assist in the game.

Williams is the fourth Anderson player to be named as an honorable mention selection in the last two years.
