Art Trail event to feature local Kentucky artists

The second annual Art Trail and Open Studio for local Kentucky artists will be held Nov. 3 starting at 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Some artists will also hold extended hours on Sunday, Nov.  4.

Marianne Brown Pottery

“I will fire again before then and will have plenty of pieces in the copper red that is everyone’s favorite,” according to a press release from the artist. “Also more of the horse stamps and Fleur de lis stamps that are my best sellers. Now of course there will be the seconds for sale: the pieces that have some minor (or sometimes major) flaw and never made it to any of the shows. Everything will be on sale starting at 15 percent off and up to 85 percent off.”

Elements Clay Studio

Elements Clay Studio, owned by Susan Burge, will have several Kentucky artists, authors and musicians throughout the day. Justamere Farm will have Angus registered beef for sale by the pound and Wildside Vineyard will be offering wine tastings of their award-winning wines. Pottery wheel throwing demos, class sign ups and 20 percent off paint your own pottery studio.

Cynthia Carr’s studio is located on a scenic hilltop 10 miles from Highway 127 in northern Mercer County. Adjacent to “Crosswind’s Pottery” is Cyndi’s newest venture “The Crow’s Nest,” displaying unique and funky salvage collected over the years and all for sale.

Join Karine and Matt Maynard at their professional blacksmith shop for their second annual studio sale and check out the progress on their new building as the studio prepares to expand.
Guest Artist Chad Balster from Louisville will be demonstrating and blowing glass with his new portable glassblowing unit from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and will have many of his hand-blown creations for sale.

The Art Emporium

The Art Emporium is a coalition of more than 30 artists gathered by artist and curator Brenda Gardner, who also owns and operates the Hair Clinic and the Frame Clinic in Lawrenceburg. The events for the day at the Art Emporium include soups sold by Talk of the Town Cafe, as well as multiple demonstrations by the coalition artists and hands-on workshops for all ages.
