Ten members of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 34 went to Thomson Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore on Dec. 8 for a Christmas Party for the Roosevelt Unit.
Shopping was done from a wish list for each of the 55 residents. Unit 34 members helped pass out food provided by the Veterans Center and gifts to the veterans provided by the Auxiliary and Post 34. Veterans asked for sweat suits, sweater jacket, sweat jacket, farm picture, slacks, robe and audio books.
This was the seventh year Unit 34 has done the Christmas party at Thomson Hood.
“Our members enjoy the party as much as the veterans,” a press release from the Auxiliary said.
Senior members going were Betty Butler, Chrisie Halvorson, Robin Browning and Shirley Thornberry.
Junior members Janna Halvorson, Anna Boyles, Hannah Drur, Kaylea Blakeman, Summer Browning and Emily Rodriguez entertained the veterans and some family members with karaoke and the national anthem.
