Anderson County picked up where it left off Saturday, thrashing host Scott County 20-8 in a “mercy rule” contest called after five innings.
“We punished the ball up and down the lineup,” said Anderson coach L.W. Barnes.
Anderson leadoff hitter Jordan Alves set the tone, going 4-for-4 with a walk and scoring five runs. He also stole a base.
Jacob Brown “crushed all three balls he hit, including the first-inning rocket over the left field fence, giving us an early 2-0 lead,” Barnes said. Brown had three RBI.
