BASKETBALL: Bearcats roll past Washington in season opener; Lady Bearcats rout Lex Cath

Both Anderson County High School basketball teams recorded big wins Friday night.
The Bearcats opened the boys' basketball season with a solid 71-50 win over visiting Washington County. Senior guard Jay Smith poured in 30 points, a career high, while pulling down eight rebounds and dishing five assists. Classmate Austin Linzy pulled down 12 rebounds as the Bearcats owned the backboards, 37-17.
