BASKETBALL PREVIEW: Familiar Big 3 to battle for trip to Diddle

If familiarity breeds contempt, then it would be easy to not like the best of the Eighth Region girls' basketball in 2013.

Two-time defending champion Walton-Verona is expected to fight it out with Anderson County and Simon Kenton for the regional title. Between them, the three schools have combined for the last five regional championships and have four runner-up trophies in their cases as well. The only time two of the three did not make it to the regional final in the last five years was last March when Walton-Verona knocked off South Oldham in the final.
