Granville Hayes scored two touchdowns, was responsible for 230 yards of offense and, for good measure, recovered a key fumble to leas Anderson County to a 27-8 win at previously-unbeaten Montgomery County Friday night.
Hayes took a 5-yard pass from Zachary Carmichael with 9:23 remaining in the first half for the game's first touchdown then burst through the Montgomery line for a 3-yard score to ice the game in the final minute.
He had stopped Montgomery's game-opening drive when he recovered a fumble at the Bearcat 6.
