Anderson County got 18 points from Jay Smith, while Ross Cox and Lowell Gordon added 14 and 13, respectively, as the Bearcats routed visiting Washington County, 74-55, Saturday night.
Anderson trailed only once at 3-2 and took total control of the game with a 12-0 run late in the second quarter. A 17-2 outburst over 3:14 of the third quarter turned the game into a rout. Anderson led 53-38 after the uprising.
“I like how the kids responded after a tough loss,” Anderson coach Glen Drury said, referring to the Bearcats' overtime loss to Owen County Friday night.
Anderson improved to 13-2 and will travel to North Oldham on Tuesday night.
Washington, which had lost an overtime decision to Anderson in the first game of the season, fell to 3-13.
