A suspect in a rash of burglaries on Enterprise and Hammonds Creek roads is now under arrest.
Frederick Kirchhoff, 27, was arrested on unrelated charges while walking on Enterprise Road on March 19, but is considered a suspect in a string of burglaries earlier that morning.
The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a possible burglary on Hammonds Creek Road, where a homeowner observed an individual walking around his property.
Deputy Chad Cox responded and arrested Kirchhoff on an outstanding warrant for contempt of court, according to a news release.
The sheriff’s office later discovered that as many as three burglaries had occurred that morning, and recovered stolen property from them and as many as three additional burglaries, the news release said.
The investigation is ongoing and other arrests are pending, the news release said.
Along with Cox, the investigation is being conducted by Deputy Matt Rogers and detectives Bryan Taylor and David Decker.
