The filing period for this year’s election cycle ended last Tuesday, and there will be no shortage of candidates from which voters will be able to choose.
Incumbent Democrat Steve Cornish will square off in May with challenger John Wayne Conway, magistrate for the county’s 6th District. The winner will be challenged in November by Republican Chip Chambers, the county’s highway supervisor, and Donna Drury, an independent candidate.
