October was Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Century Bank supported the cause to help promote cancer awareness, according to a news release.
Bank employees sold awareness items and hosted a variety of fund raising events such as “Stomp Out Cancer” and “Pay to Wear Pink” Days.
Century Bank also donated $5 for each new, personal checking account opened during the month to cancer research and offered those customers free, pink Breast Cancer Checks, according to the release.
A donation of over $600 was made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure on behalf of the bank and its customers.
Century Bank is a corporate sponsor of Anderson County’s American Cancer Society Relay for Life event held each summer and will be sponsoring a Christmas tree to be auctioned at the local House of Trees event held the weekend of Nov. 18-20.
For more information on this event, contact the bank at 859-5111 or visit www.houseoftrees.org.
