Christian Academy student wins
Ohio Valley Region Spelling Bee
Brooke Carpenter, an eighth grader at the Christian Academy of Lawrenceburg, surpassed 15 other contestants in the championship round of the ACSI Ohio Valley Region Spelling Bee on Feb. 25.
The spelling bee was held at the Whitfield Christian Academy in Louisville.
Carpenter, the daughter of Dale and Melissa Carpenter, correctly spelled ‘mellifluous’ and ‘syllabication’ in the final round to secure the championship trophy.
