The Christian Academy of Lawrenceburg Rams defeated Danville Christian 65-21 in boys’ high school basketball action on Dec. 2. The game was played at the Anderson County Early Childhood Center.
This was the second meeting of the season, with CAL winning the first by 34 points.
Coming into this game, Ram coach Cory Robinson was in a difficult position, not wanting to allow his players to play without intensity, but also desiring to teach the life lesson of being merciful.
Coach Robinson would end up using every one on the bench. The Rams improve every week, especially with the defense becoming exceptionally good.
Junior Matthew Robinson once again found his shooting touch, leading all scorers with 21 points.
With the changes that Coach Robinson made in the rotations, it gave different players a chance to contribute and shine. Jordan King played with great hustle and earned himself
minutes in this game. Zach Craft put on quite a show in the fourth quarter making 10 points in rapid succession.
Aaron Dennis is another young man who came off the bench and contributed in a big way. He was trying for rebounds or going for the steals and getting a couple drives off those steals. Michael Kuiper played a good job defensively diving to the floor after loose balls and providing good intensity on both ends of the court.
Coach Robinson said after the game, “This was the most complete game we (have) had. We executed well on both ends of the court especially on great team defense.”
