Brooke Carpenter, a student from the Christian Academy of Lawrenceburg, was one of 39 spellers in Circleville, Ohio at the Ohio Christian University for the ACSI Ohio River Valley Regional Spelling Bee.  She won fourth place spelling words like “tutelage,” “idiomatically” and “invidious.”
The top four spellers from the Regional Spelling Bee are eligible to participate in the Annual ACSI National Spelling Bee that will be held on May 12 in Washington, D.C. There will be an awards luncheon following the competition and a sightseeing tour of Washington D.C. that afternoon.
Carpenter received one trophy for making it to the regional spelling bee four consecutive years and another for her fourth place finish, which qualifies her for the ACSI National Spelling Bee in Washington in May.
