The Lawrenceburg City Council approved on second reading a new cemetery ordinance, but left out the component that would have allowed the city to sell low-cost, standardized grave markers.
The ordinance passed by a vote of 5-1, with Councilman Tommy Vaughn casting the lone dissenting vote.
Before casting his vote, Vaughn commented that because the component allowing the city to sell grave markers was left out, he had to say no.
