The upcoming Lawrenceburg Fourth of July festivities will be held Fri., July 4.
The event lineup is:
•Veterans Parade Line up at 4:30 p.m. at the American Legion Fairgrounds located at 725 W Broadway St, Lawrenceburg KY 40342.
There will be hot dogs, chips and other refreshments provided for all participants during line-up. The Anderson County American Legion Auxiliary Unit 34 sponsors this event.
•Veteran’s parade starts at 5:30 p.m. from American Legion park to Lawrenceburg Green.
•Veteran’s recognition at the Green from 6-10 p.m. There will be live music, featuring Harmonic Dilemma, games, food and festivities.
•Fireworks, sponsored by the City of Lawrenceburg, begin at dusk. Bring a lawn chair.
Anderson County Director of Public Safety Bart Powell gives these tips:
•Use caution when buying legal fireworks.
•Though most sold at local stands are legal, larger fireworks purchased out of state are not and citizens should refrain from buying and setting them off.
•Minors around fireworks should always be supervised by an adult.
•Any private display of fireworks in the county park is prohibited, including during the City fireworks display for the safety of all citizens.
The contingency dates are July 11 and July 12, in case of inclement weather.
