Claylick United Methodist Church, located on Claylick Church Road, will host a free burgoo dinner Oct. 3.
Bring your own spoon, bowl and beverage.
Serving starts at 5 p.m. and the Patriot Quartet will perform at 7.
Westside Community church
Westside Community Church had a pizza party Sept. 25 at the America Legion Park after the morning service.
The church provided the pizza, drinks and plates.
The church had a special guest singer, Blessed Hope, on Sept. 25 during the 6 p.m. Sunday night service.
Westside will have a Family Event on Sept. 30.
They will be going to the movies to see “Dolphin Tales” in Frankfort, and will be leaving the church at 6:30 p.m.
On Oct. 2 there will be a special guest speaker from the Gideon Association during Sunday morning service. Everyone is welcome.
Every Wednesday Night Westside offers a Bible study at 6:30 p.m.
On Oct. 9 Westside will be celebrating Pastor Appreciation Day for the Rev. F.D. Robinson.
There will also be a Pray Walk at 2 p.m. at the Anderson High School.
On Oct. 9 there will be a guest singer, Mike Moblely, at 6 p.m.
On Oct. 15 Westside will be going to the Game Farm in Frankfort. Be at the Game Farm by 2 p.m.
On Oct. 19 there will be a Bible study at 6:30 p.m. / Senior Youth Group will have their monthly meeting.
On Oct. 18 Westside will be going to Heritage Hall Nursing Home to fellowship with the residents at 7 p.m.
On Oct. 28 Westside will be doing the Trunk or Treat from 6-6:30 p.m., followed by a soup and chili supper.
Pleasant Hill Christian Church
hosts yard sale
Pleasant Hill Christian church will host a yard sale Oct. 1 at 8 a.m., weather permitting, with all proceeds going to its building fund.
The church is located at 1005 Mt. Eden Road at the corner of Pleasant Grove Ridge and Highway 44.
Salvisa hosts free clothes day Oct. 3
A community free clothes day will be held Oct. 3 from 2-6 p.m. at Salvisa Christian Church, 155 Sugar St., Salvisa.
The clothes are free and all sizes will be available.
The church will sponsor a Make-A-Blanket Day on Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A potluck lunch will be served.
Bring 1 ½ yards of fleece, any color or characters pleasing to children, infants to 18.
Those who can’t bring any fleece are still encouraged to come.
To date, the Salvisa community has delivered more than 500 blankets to area hospitals and fire departments.
