I was driving home just after dusk the other night and caught a whiff of watermelons in the air.
It was cut grass, but to me it smelled like watermelon. It was like a last hoorah of summer.
Well, autumn did officially begin yesterday. I know the cycle of life includes all four seasons, but I do hate to see the warm one go. But, go it must.
I’m sure I’m not the only gardener that dreads putting the garden to bed. Now if I were getting ready to plant, I’d be raring to go.
