Crawford’s drive paved way for Crawford Drive

By John Herndon

For most of my life, I had known Rick Crawford as that red-haired guy whose parents lived just a short piece down the road.

He was an Anderson County sports fan. The guy that sometimes called me up on Saturday to talk about what happened when the Bearcats played the night before.

I knew he had played on an undefeated football team at Georgetown College.

And I knew that the Tigers might never be as good on the field as Alabama, or USC, but that didn’t matter to Rick. To him, the Tigers were better.
