When the alarm clocks went off in Bowling Green on Thursday morning, it was raining.
Really only a drizzle, just nasty enough to make your joints ache.
That's all it was. Nothing more than a gloomy feeling.
What a fitting morning to follow Anderson County's ouster from the girls' state basketball tournament the night before. Clay County took the lead early, built it to 20 points, then turned back a furious Anderson rally to prevail 70-55.
It really was not supposed to be that way.
