Remember all those rains we’ve been getting this month? Imagine if it was snow.
One inch of rain is equivalent to 10 inches of snow. Oh boy. So, how much would a whole foot of snow weigh, if it was sitting on the roof right now? Snow weighs in at six pounds per square foot for every 12 inches of snow. Good thing most roofs are built to handle 30 to 40 pounds per square foot. Good tip to know for this coming winter.
