to meet Dec. 10
The Anderson County Health Department will host its diabetes support program next Tuesday, Dec. 10, according to a news release.
It will meet in the health department’s community room from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
The department kicked off the revitalization of its diabetes support group on Nov. 12.
The new program will replace the diabetes support group that previously met every month for education about diabetes prevention and treatment, along with sharing of diabetic recipes, and listening to information from guest speakers.
The health department is located at 1180 Glensboro Road, Lawrenceburg.
“According to a 2010 Kentucky Diabetes Fact Sheet, the burden of diabetes in Kentucky and in the nation is large and growing,” according to a press release from the health department.
The diabetic support session is open to pre-diabetics and diabetics of all ages, as well as caregivers, event organizers said.
For more information, contact the Anderson County Health Department at 502-839-4566 or Brenda Haydon at 502-696-4857.
