Mount Eden Ruritan Club holds benefit chicken dinner
The Mount Eden Ruritan Club will host a benefit chicken dinner for 6-year-old Blake Hundley on Aug. 26 at noon.
The chicken dinner will be held at the Ruritan Club in Mount Eden, starting at noon after church.
The event is $10 a plate. Proceeds of the dinner will go toward medical expenses for Blake Hundley, who is currently undergoing treatment for a brain tumor. Hundley is the great-grandson of Roy Jr. Temple, minister at Pleasant Hill Christian Church in Lawrenceburg.

2012 Nashville Emerging Leader Award
Ronda Helton, senior director of marketing for the Nashville Symphony and Lawrenceburg native, was one of 15 recipients of the 2012 Nashville Emerging Leader Award, which recognized young professionals for their accomplishments in their respective fields, their demonstrated leadership and their involvement in community services. Helton was honored for her work in the field of community service and nonprofit.
Helton joined the Nashville Symphony orchestra’s staff in 2005.
Helton is a member of the Young Leaders Council and Avant-Garde of the Frist Center for the Visual Arts, and she is vice president of communications for the Association of Fundraising Professionals. She serves as steering committee co-chair for Generation Conservation, and she spends time volunteering as a board member for the Martha O’Bryan Center. While serving there, Helton has participated in strategic planning sessions that have resulted in a new charter school, East End Prep in East Nashville.
