Anderson Public Library October computer classes schedule
Call the library at 839-6420 or speak with a staff member at the circulation desk for class descriptions or to sign up. Class space is limited to 5 students. Introduction to the Internet
When: Oct. 11
Time: 1-2:30 p.m.
Let’s go surfing! This class will introduce you to the internet. Topics include: using the internet, website addresses, navigating a website, conducting a simple search, understanding email and social networking. Pre-registration is required.

Oct. 8-12: GED instruction and college preparation, community education building, 8 a.m. to noon, 4:30-7:30 p.m., Bluegrass Community and Technical College, noon to 4 p.m., times subject to change depending on day.

The Adult Learning Center, located at 219 E. Woodford St., is open from 8 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Adult education offers classes in GED/College-prep instruction, educational assessment and learning workplace skills. The Bluegrass Community and Technical College offers adult education services Monday through Friday from noon until 4 p.m. Community education offers lifelong learning classes, humanities programs, Community of Promise involvement and opportunities to volunteer in the schools and throughout the community.  For information call the office at 502-839-3754.

Upcoming events
The Alton Ruritan Club will be sponsoring a fish fry for the Anderson Senior Center on Oct. 13 starting at 4:30 p.m. at the Senior Center. A hot fish dinner featuring fish, cole slaw, baked beans, French fries, hush puppies, dessert and drink will be served from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Music and entertainment by David and Rick will be from 5:30-7 p.m. Cost for the dinner is $8 each. The community is invited to attend. All proceeds will be used for Senior Center programs.
