Compassionate Friends announce upcoming meetings
The Compassionate Friends will host meetings for bereavement parents who have lost children of any age.
Meetings are held on the first Thursday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and the third Monday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the hospice building, 643 Teton Trail in Frankfort.

Oct. 24 – Diabetes Medications – Get your questions answered by Sherri Hahn, Pharmacist RPH, from Kroger Pharmacy, at 5:30 p.m.
Nov. 1 – ‘How to Cook Thanksgiving Dinner on a Budget’ at 5 p.m.
All classes are FREE but require pre-registration by calling the Anderson County Extension Office at 502-839-7271. Limited to 30 people. Cooks only please. Class will be three hours long.
Oct. 29 - Nutrition class at Open Hands Food Pantry at 6:30 p.m. Free meal sponsored by the Extension Homemakers and lesson on using eggplant, Ratatouille Soup.
Nov. 12 - Parents of preschoolers are invited to join the Early Childhood Council to work on improving reading readiness at 5:30 p.m. Success in reading leads to success in school.
Dec. 5 - Weight Management for the Holidays, first session of seven classes at 5:30 p.m. Class ends on Jan. 23. Minimum of 12.
All classes are free unless otherwise noted. Registration is required for the class on How to Cook a Turkey Dinner on a Budget and

The Adult Learning Center, located at 219 E. Woodford St., is open from 8 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Adult education offers classes in GED/College-prep instruction, educational assessment and learning workplace skills. The Bluegrass Community and Technical College offers adult education services Monday through Friday from noon until 4 p.m. Community education offers lifelong learning classes, humanities programs, Community of Promise involvement and opportunities to volunteer in the schools and throughout the community. Upcoming events
Farmer’s Bank and the Anderson Senior Center are co-sponsoring a driving class Oct. 29 from 12:30-5 p.m. Sessions are $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members. Farmer’s Bank has arranged a special rate for their customers.
