Compassionate Friends announce upcoming meetings
The Compassionate Friends will host meetings for bereavement parents who have lost children of any age.
Meetings are held on the first Thursday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and the third Monday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the hospice building, 643 Teton Trail in Frankfort.

Relay for Life fundraisers
Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 24 and 25 – 4th annual House of Trees at Eagle Lake Convention Center. Two-day silent auction featuring decorated holiday trees, wreaths, centerpieces and classic gingerbread houses. Saturday: 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. and Sunday: 1-4 p.m. Also includes pictures with Santa on Saturday, shopping with onsite vendors, refreshments and holiday music and entertainment performed by local talent. Computer Classes Schedule
The Anderson Public Library will offer the following free computer classes in November. All classes are subject to cancellation, and class space is limited to five students. Call the library at 839-6420 to sign up or for more information.
Introduction to Microsoft Word Level I
When: Nov. 13, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Learn the basics of word processing, including creating, formatting, and printing a simple document. Prerequisite: Experience using Windows programs. Pre-registration is required.
Introduction to Microsoft Word Level II
When: Nov. 20, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Prerequisite: Word Level 1 class or experience creating simple documents using Word 2007 or 2010. Pre-registration is required.
Nov. 5-Nov. 9: GED instruction and college preparation, community education building, 8 a.m. to noon, 4:30-7:30 p.m., Bluegrass Community and Technical College, noon to 4 p.m., times subject to change depending on day.

The Adult Learning Center, located at 219 E. Woodford St., is open from 8 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Adult education offers classes in GED/College-prep instruction, educational assessment and learning workplace skills. The Bluegrass Community and Technical College offers adult education services Monday through Friday from noon until 4 p.m. Community education offers lifelong learning classes, humanities programs, Community of Promise involvement and opportunities to volunteer in the schools and throughout the community.  For information call the office at 502-839-3754.
