Compassionate Friends announce upcoming meetings
The Compassionate Friends will host meetings for bereavement parents who have lost children of any age.
Meetings are held on the first Thursday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and the third Monday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the hospice building, 643 Teton Trail in Frankfort.

Hospice of the Bluegrass announces meetings
On Thursday, Dec. 20, Hospice of the Bluegrass will conduct a grief support group for adults who have lost a minor age or adult child within the last two years. The group will meet from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Hospice Community Building located at 643 Teton Trail in Frankfort. Contact Melinda Simpson, LCSW for more information at (502) 223-1744 or (800) 926-1302.
On Wednesday, Dec. 19, Hospice of the Bluegrass will offer its annual support group for adults who are living with the loss of a loved one during the holiday season. The meeting is open to anyone in the community. Library to offer December computer classes
The Anderson Public Library will offer free computer classes in December, with all classes open to the public. Class space is limited to five students, and students will use the library’s laptops.
All classes are subject to cancellation.

Introduction to Microsoft Word Level I
When: Dec. 20
Time: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Learn the basics of word processing, including creating, formatting, and printing a simple document. Prerequisite: Experience using Windows programs. Pre-registration is required.
Introduction to Microsoft Word Level II
When: Dec. 27
Time: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Learn more advanced word processing skills including bulleted and numbered lists, cut/copy/paste functions, and printing envelopes and labels.
Prerequisite: Word Level 1 class or experience creating simple documents using Word 2007 or 2010. Pre-registration is required.

The Adult Learning Center will be closed Dec. 24-25 and Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.
Special class hours will be available on Dec. 26, Dec. 27 and Dec. 28 and Jan. 2 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Adult Learning Center, located at 219 E. Woodford St., is open from 8 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Adult education offers classes in GED/College-prep instruction, educational assessment and learning workplace skills. The Bluegrass Community and Technical College offers adult education services Monday through Friday from noon until 4 p.m. Community education offers lifelong learning classes, humanities programs, Community of Promise involvement and opportunities to volunteer in the schools and throughout the community.  For information call the office at 502-839-3754.
