Anderson County Piecemakers Quilt Guild change meeting time
On Monday, March 4 The Anderson County Piecemakers Quilt Guild meeting time will change, for this month only, to 6 p.m. at the Anderson County Extension Office. The program will be conducted by Vicki McCarty from Calico Patch Quilt Shop in Morehead.
Compassionate Friends announce upcoming meetings
The Compassionate Friends will host meetings for bereavement parents who have lost children of any age.
Meetings are held on the first Thursday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and the third Monday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the hospice building, 643 Teton Trail in Frankfort.

Decorating on a Dime class offered at Mercer Co. Extension
When: Friday, March 15
Time: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Mercer County Extension Office
Come learn from the experts cost effective ways to give your home a fresh face lift and learn new decorating ideas. Information will be included on the following topics: lighting, pain, room arrangements, repurposing items, making lamps, pillows, wall art, cabinet and countertop remodeling ideas and much more. Listen to expert speakers, visit displays and watch live demos.
Cost is $5, which includes a light lunch. This is a multi-county event that includes Anderson County. Join us for an interesting day. Anderson Public Library offers computer, yoga classes

Veterans can apply for VA claims at Legion
Veterans can file for VA claims, ask information on veteran benefits, initiate claim appeals or just have an opportunity to ask how to negotiate the VA system, according to a press release from the American Legion.
When: Fourth Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m.
Where: American Legion, Post 34, at Legion Park in Lawrenceburg.

Extension Homemakers to host ‘Festival of Foods’ scholarship fundraiser
The Anderson County Extension Homemakers will sponsor “The Festival of Foods” on March 19 at 6 p.m., with all proceeds going to support a scholarship for an Anderson County student who majors in family and consumer sciences or agriculture.  
“Join us for a fun night of food from Australia, Germany and Guatemala,” event organizers said in a press release. “Learn about their country and culture.”  
Tickets are $5 each. Children 4 years old and under are free.

The Adult Learning Center, located at 219 E. Woodford St., is open from 8 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Adult education offers classes in GED/College-prep instruction, educational assessment and learning workplace skills. The Bluegrass Community and Technical College offers adult education services Monday through Friday from noon until 4 p.m. Community education offers lifelong learning classes, humanities programs, Community of Promise involvement and opportunities to volunteer in the schools and throughout the community.  For information call the office at 502-839-3754.

Upcoming events
The Anderson Senior Center and the Anderson Public Library will sponsor an assistive technology fair at the center on Wednesday, March 6 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Librarians will demonstrate the latest devices for people with blindness or low vision. On Wednesday, March 13 Hope Community Church will be hosting Kids on Mission serving others at 6 p.m. All invited for games, prizes and food.
