Compassionate Friends announce upcoming meetings
The Compassionate Friends will host meetings for bereavement parents who have lost children of any age.
Meetings are held on the first Thursday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and the third Monday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the hospice building, 643 Teton Trail in Frankfort.

Veterans can apply for VA claims at Legion
Veterans can file for VA claims, ask information on veteran benefits, initiate claim appeals or just have an opportunity to ask how to negotiate the VA system, according to a press release from the American Legion.
When: Fourth Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m.
Where: American Legion, Post 34, at Legion Park in Lawrenceburg.

The Adult Learning Center, located at 219 E. Woodford St., is open from 8 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Adult education offers classes in GED/College-prep instruction, educational assessment and learning workplace skills. The Bluegrass Community and Technical College offers adult education services Monday through Friday from noon until 4 p.m. Community education offers lifelong learning classes, humanities programs, Community of Promise involvement and opportunities to volunteer in the schools and throughout the community. 2013 Farmer’s Market coupons
The Anderson County Senior Center, located at 160 Township Square, will distribute the 2013 Farmer’s Market coupons to eligible seniors from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 13; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, June 14; and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, June 15. Participants must be at least age 60, provide proof of age and proof of income for everyone in their household. Eligible seniors are those with a household of one person that will make a gross income of $1,245 per month or less; a household of two who will make a gross income of $1,681 per month or less; household of three that will make a gross income of $2,116 per month or less.
Eligible seniors will be awarded $28 worth of Farmer’s Market coupons from the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. Seniors may use these coupons to buy fresh fruits, vegetables and honey from designated Farmer’s Market sites and vendors.
If an eligible senior is homebound, the senior may appoint a proxy to sign him or her up for the coupons. A signed and dated permission statement must be brought to the sign-up, along with proof of the senior’s birth date and proof of income. Coupons will be given on a first come/first served basis on the above three days.
No coupons will be awarded before 9 a.m. on June 13.
