Compassionate Friends announce upcoming meetings
The Compassionate Friends will host meetings for bereavement parents who have lost children of any age.
Meetings are held on the first Thursday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and the third Monday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the hospice building, 643 Teton Trail in Frankfort.

Keeping It Sweet – Learn about new nonnutritive sweeteners, not all are “artificial.”  Can you use these sweeteners in baking? What difference will it make if you substitute nonnutritive sweeteners? Tamera Thomas, FCS Agent from Franklin County will present a free program on nonnutritive sweeteners on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 1:30 p.m. at the Anderson County Extension Office. Mt. Eden Saddle club upcoming events

Nov. 2: Halloween Dance and Costume Contest. Silver Wings Band will play from 8 p.m. to midnight. $5 adults, children 6 and under free, members free. Contest for scariest, funniest and cutest kid under 12.  2014 Officer Election will be held at 6:30 p.m.

The Adult Learning Center, located at 219 E. Woodford St., is open from 8 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Adult education offers classes in GED/College-prep instruction, educational assessment and learning workplace skills. The Bluegrass Community and Technical College offers adult education services Monday through Friday from noon until 4 p.m. Community education offers lifelong learning classes, humanities programs, Community of Promise involvement and opportunities to volunteer in the schools and throughout the community. Upcoming events
Kick off Burgoo bash days and join the Senior Center for breakfast Sept. 27 from 8-11:30 a.m. The breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, biscuits and gravy along with fruit and drink for $5 per person or $2.50 for those under age 6.
The Senior Center will be hosting a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The yard sale will also be held Saturday, Sept. 28 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. including craft items, raffles and baked goods.
The Anderson County Senior Center and Adult Day Care are jointly sponsoring the two fundraisers. For additional information, contact the center at 839-7520.
All proceeds will be used to continue senior programs.
