Congressman Ben Chandler made a surprise visit to Anderson County on Friday to honor Truman Wells, a World War II veteran.
Well, it was supposed to be a surprise.
Wells’ daughter Susan Young and her husband, Tony, planned to keep the visit a secret until Chandler arrived Friday afternoon to present Wells with a flag flown over the nation’s capitol in his honor.
However, the cat was let out of the bag on Thursday night so other family members could plan to attend, Tony Young said.
