Conway ‘misguided’ as cops play tax collector

To the editor:
Judge-Executive John Wayne Conway’s insistence on lowering the speed limit on Versailles Road is misguided.
The recent accidents there were not caused by speed. They were caused by human error and/or carelessness.
People drive what they feel is a safe and reasonable speed regardless of the speed limit, and lowering  already artificially low limits only creates another speed trap for police to use to create revenue.
People are not going to slow down, but they can be made to drive more safely.
