Anderson County received just enough rain over the past few days to allow the county fire department to lift its burn ban, Fire Chief Mike Barnes said Thursday morning.
“We’ve gotten over an inch of rain,” Barnes said.
However, Barnes emphasized that the ban put in place by the Kentucky Division of Forestry is still in effect through Dec. 15.
According to that ban, controlled burns must be 150 feet away from wooded areas and are only permitted between the hours of 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.
