The Anderson County Fiscal Court approved funding a system that can alert residents of pending emergencies.
Magistrates approved the measure at their meeting Tuesday morning, and will use tax money it receives from residents who have landline phones.
The county opted for a four-year contact with One Call Now, the same company currently used by Anderson County Schools to notify parents of school closings and other events.
