Real estate closings in Anderson County plummeted more than 50 percent in December, capping off a year that saw the county’s protracted real estate slump continue, according to statistics provided by the Lexington Board of Area Realtors.
Only 13 home sales were recorded by realtors associated with the agency in December, a sizeable drop from the 28 closed last December.
Home sales dipped overall in 2010, falling from 234 in 2009 to 226 last year.
